Epson EcoTank L3110 vs L3150 vs L3210 vs L3250 Compared

Epson's EcoTank L-series is the most popular colour printer in Pakistani homes, and the model numbers cause endless confusion. The L3110, L3150, L3210 and L3250 are two generations of the same idea: a colour all-in-one with refillable ink tanks on the side instead of cartridges. This guide explains what actually differs, what it costs to run, and how to avoid the two faults that bring most EcoTanks to our workshop.

The four models compared

All four print at roughly 10 pages a minute in black and 5 in colour at standard quality (the '33 ppm' on the box is draft mode), up to 5760 × 1440 dpi on photo paper, and scan with a flatbed. We stock tested units of all four: the L3110 at about PKR 33,000, the L3150 at PKR 41,000, the L3210 at PKR 47,000 and the L3250 at PKR 50,000 (September 2026).

The newer L3210 and L3250 have a refreshed body and, on the L3250, Epson's Smart Panel app for setup and scanning from a phone. Print quality, speed, ink and running cost are essentially the same as the models they replace. That makes a tested L3110 or L3150 the better-value buy; choose the L3210 or L3250 if you want the newer body and app.

USB or Wi-Fi?

Choose the L3150 or L3250 if anyone will print from a phone, or if the printer will be shared by more than one person — Wi-Fi Direct lets a phone print even without a router. Choose the L3110 or L3210 if the printer sits next to one computer. Our Wi-Fi vs LAN vs USB guide explains the trade-offs.

Running cost: Epson 003 ink

All four use Epson 003 bottles: Epson rates a black bottle at about 4,500 pages and a set of three colours at about 7,500 pages. That is why an EcoTank costs so little per colour page compared with a cartridge inkjet. Use the correct 003 ink for your region — wrong or poor-quality ink is the leading cause of blocked heads.

The two faults to avoid

• Dried or clogged print head: the head is built into the printer, not the ink bottle, so if it dries out it has to be cleaned or replaced — and a replacement head costs a large share of the printer's price. Print a colour page at least once a week and never let the ink level drop below the bottom line.
• 'Service required' with alternating blinking lights: the waste-ink pad counter is full after years of head cleaning. The printer is not dead — the pad needs cleaning or replacing and the counter resetting. It is a routine workshop job; see printer repair cost.

Epson EcoTank or a laser printer?

An EcoTank is the right choice if you need colour — school projects, photos, charts.
